Kristina ‘KP’ Powers, PhD
We are excited to welcome Dr. Powers as our guest speaker at the 2026 Transfer Student Success Workshop. She will present Transfer-In Success by Design: How Overachieving Institutions Support the Student Journey from College Choice Through Career.
Kristina ‘KP’ Powers, PhD, is President of the Institute for Effectiveness in Higher Education®, a practitioner-led knowledge ecosystem that helps higher education leaders turn evidence into stronger institutional and student outcomes. Her work in Georgia includes serving as Assistant Vice President for Strategic Research and Analysis at Valdosta State University, and she holds a master’s degree in Financial Planning from the University of Georgia. Across more than 25 years in higher education, her research and leadership have connected institutional data, student-institution fit, strategic decision-making, and student success. She writes KP on IE: clear, practical advice on what makes colleges and universities actually work, for the leaders running them.
